We endeavour to deliver state-of-the-art systems that are easy to use and intuitive, and it’s our Service Delivery Director – Farron Rowe, and his team- who are instrumental in making sure that all our apps are working efficiently.

We sat down with Farron to learn more about him and his role…

 

What does your role involve?

I’m responsible for the overall performance of the service delivery team; making sure that services and applications are seamlessly delivered to our internal and external users of the organisation.

How long have you worked for SystemsLink?

I have worked for SystemsLink for five years, but I previously worked for the Inspired PLC Group /STC for six years.

What inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

I quite enjoy understanding how things are put together and seeing the end result, as well as making people happy. Delivering software for others was meant to be my vocation.

What’s the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

Communicate – you increase yours and other’s chances of being successful with open and transparent communication. This can be applied to many day-to-day tasks and projects.

What do you like the most about your job?

The variety – working in this sector, no two days are the same as you never know what will pass through the service desks each day.

What has been your favourite project at SystemsLink?

I’m going to sound like a geek – but I love published charges. I could speak about DUOS for hours! It’s so involved.

That being said, we have some exciting projects to consolidate our service desks across Service Delivery and am looking forward to completing these in the near future.

What are the challenges you’ve faced in the industry?

I feel like there is a lack of well-versed industry people. Working in this industry you are constantly learning with evolving changes to the landscape. I feel people may benefit from experiencing different parts of the chain – whether that is working for a supplier or Elexon or Ofgem.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

100% teleportation - I’m up and down the country like a service lift. I’d save so much time!

And finally, is there anything you’d like to add?

I play pool for the West Indies and regularly attend the World Championships.
