The annual Water Saving Week is an opportunity to examine the ripple effects taking control of your water consumption can have– from your costs to your carbon footprint.

In fact, managing how you buy, use and account for your water is just as important as with your other utilities.

The cost of water has been taking the spotlight recently – from 1 April 2025 wholesale water prices have risen an average 20% following Ofwat’s 2024 Price Review (PR24), with some areas and tariffs affected up to as much as 50%.

“Water is often overlooked when discussing utilities, but our existence on this planet relies on it – every drop counts.

“The recent price rises have further underlined the weight of water in organisational decision-making. Although these price rises will increase your water costs, any measures to control your usage will help reduce their impact to your portfolio.”
