SystemsLink Staff Spotlight: Business Development Manager

Next up in our Staff Spotlight series is our Business Development Manager- Laura Eyles.

Despite only being with SystemsLink for a short time, she’s already an extremely valued member of the team and has made a significant impact on the business’s growth.

Here’s our Q&A with the leading lady herself…

What does your role involve?

I am responsible for driving new business growth within SystemsLink, by developing a network to attract new clients, research the market to find new areas of opportunities and to provide demonstrations of our applications and their capabilities.

How long have you worked for SystemsLink?

12 months ( but it has flown by and in a good way!)

What inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

I enjoy speaking to people and finding out about their businesses. I also work well under pressure which helps with sales.

What’s the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

To ask questions and voice your opinions; I think collaborating with your peers brings out the best in you.

What do you like most about your job?

Speaking to different people and I am constantly learning something new, especially with Energy Manager.

What has been your favourite project at SystemsLink?

I joined at an exciting time with the launch of Unify and the new applications. I also enjoyed being part of the Energy Live Consultancy Conference (ELCC) and TELCA event, in December 2021.

What are the challenges you’ve faced in the industry?

With over nine years in the energy industry, the wholesale market often presents challenges.

And finally, if you could have a superpower, what would it be?

To be able to survive without sleep, although working full-time and being a parent feels like I do this most days!
