Over time the energy team has explored the capabilities of the software by utilising bespoke features, such as a report which showcases onsite problems through consumption issues in comparison to a budget or targets.
However, effective energy management is a joint effort and collecting all this data requires cross-departmental collaboration. The energy team continuously promotes wider software access to their colleagues across NHS Lothian, including estates teams and private practices.
The results
Practice managers can now access energy data through Energy Manager’s web portal, allowing them to track consumption and see the impact of their energy efficiency actions.
The staff is also increasingly brandishing the portal’s URL feature, where users can create a slide show to present their reporting outputs to a wider audience. For example, these can be presented to key decision-makers or other stakeholders.
Exploring the potential of Energy Manager doesn’t end here for NHS Lothian either. Moving forward, the team wants to examine further features, such as Smart Spaces and tenant billing, to expand the value of their software even farther.
